Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez has been selected to be the interim President of Florida International University (FIU), a move The Floridian first reported as being "imminent" after it was reported that she was on the very short list for the job.
"One source close to the Executive Office in Tallahassee and two sources within the university told The Floridian that Lt. Gov. Nuñez's selection "is imminent," was reported on January 31.
Who will replace Nuñez?
Rep. Michael Caruso (R) is said to be one of Governor Ron DeSantis's choices to replace the outgoing Nuñez.
I am honored to be selected as Interim President of Florida International University by the FIU Board of Trustees.
As a two-time alumna and a proud Panther mom, I am deeply committed to the success of FIU. I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees in the coming days.
