Trump Allies Fine and Patronis Win Special House Primary Races

Share

TALLAHASSEE—Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis and State Senator Randy Fine, both Trump endorsees, crushed their respective fields of Republican congressional primary opponents and have all but assured themselves to become the next members of the U.S. House of Representatives in their respective districts.

The vote total wasn't even close. Sen. Fine cruised to victory with over 80% of the vote, while CFO Patronis won by over 65% of the vote.

Fine recently pushed legislation in the Florida Senate to prohibit illegal aliens from receiving in-state tuition.

Congressional Districts 1 and 6 are deep-red Republican seats

The influential Americans for Prosperity grassroots organization congratulated Patronis after his decisive win.

“Tonight, we are thrilled to see Jimmy win the primary and move on to the general election. Once he is elected we know Jimmy will fight to get our economy back on track. As a fiscal conservative who stands for pro-growth policies, we know the top issues impacting Floridian families will be prioritized by Jimmy through empowering solutions. Our team reached countless voters, even through unprecedented snow, and we’re ready to get out again leading up to the general election," state Skylar Zander, AFP's Florida State Director.
