Inauguration Day
It's Inauguration Day, and the day Republicans (most Americans) have waited for is finally here. Today is Martin Luther King Day, and President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
It will be colder than an ice box in Washington, D.C., but that is OK for MAGA, who has braved the weather and traveled to the Capitol to see President Trump take the oath of office.
This past weekend, the Florida Republican universe converged on the Republican Party of Florida Gala and the Sunshine State Gala hosted by Senator Rick Scott.
The who-is-who of Republican politics in Florida, including several senators from around the country and yours truly, were in attendance.
Soon-to-be Secretary of State, Senator Marco Rubio showed up late, but still found time to come up to me and recite one of his trademark and corny personal digs in his feeble attempt to poke fun at me to my wife on his way out.
While he tries to be funny, I do have to give him credit for having one of the best Tony Montana accents.
Without telling too much about how his new gig will play out in the coming weeks and months, I can tell you that his media publisher will not skip a beat, and will be making some of those state trips abroad as part of the traveling press (wifey still has final say on this).
Also, a rare and historic moment took place. Florida Politics' Publisher Peter Schorsch and I met up for the first time in many moons and posed for this rare photo.
President Trump is reported to be dropping 100+ executive orders to undo the disaster President Biden left him.
Congress will resume on Tuesday.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Thank you, Mr. President, @JoeBiden
. When disaster struck, you led America with empathy. You brought us out of a deadly pandemic, created record jobs, restored America’s global standing, and did it all with respect, compassion and decency.
Senator Randy Fine-Three hostages are going to be released today. Three lives saved. Three families reunited.
Thank you @realDonaldTrump for doing what Jihad Joe refused to. The fight to save every hostage and eradicate Muslim terror has a long way to go. But today we take the win.
Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick-Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher—held hostage by Hamas for 16 months—are finally free.
Welcome home.
We won’t rest until all hostages are reunited with their families and a secure, peaceful future is within reach.
Brian Mast-#AmericaFirst is BACK tomorrow. What is on the top of your agenda to restore American greatness?
Rick Scott-Joe Biden allowed US citizens and innocent Israeli civilians to be held hostage by Hamas terrorists for more than 470 days.
It took President Trump returning to office to gain those hostages’ freedom. Bring them all home.
