Senator Rick Scott
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) released a message on social media to Floridians and Americans alike, wishing his constituents a nice Christmas holiday. Sen. Scott said this time is meant to acknowledge our blessings and spend time with family.
“I'm Senator Rick Scott, and I want to wish you and your family a merry Christmas. This holiday season is a time to reflect on our blessings and gather together with those we love,” said Sen. Scott. “For me, it brings back memories of my mom, who did everything she could to put food on the table and make Christmas special for my brothers, my sister and me” the Florida senator continued.
He shared his family’s approach to the holiday, which includes a focus on Jesus coming down to save mankind, and U.S. servicemembers protecting Americans year-round, including days like Christmas.
“Today, our family continues that special celebration with my daughters and my grandkids as we thank God for sending His Son Jesus to be our Savior,” said Sen Scott. “It's also important to remember that not everyone gets to be with their loved ones this year, I encourage everyone to take this time to remember those away from their families this holiday season, especially our brave service men and women, and first responders.”
Finally, Scott called it an honor to serve as an elected official and “fight for Florida” in the upper chamber.
“From my family to yours, Merry Christmas. It's an honor to represent you and fight for Florida families in the United States Senate. Thank you and God bless,” concluded Scott.
The Florida senator recently shared that he has been assigned to the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and will be Chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging for the 119th Congress. He will also continue to serve on the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Committee on the Budget.
In a statement, Sen. Scott shared his excitement about fighting "every day in Washington" for the State of Florida and its residents.
“I’m incredibly proud to continue serving the great state of Florida in the 119th Congress and be a member of key committees that will be essential to our fight to Make Washington Work for Florida families," said Sen. Scott. "As a new member of the Committee on Foreign Relations, Chairman of the Special Committee on Aging, and member of the Armed Services, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and Budget committees, I will have the opportunity to fight every day in Washington for the issues most important to Florida families."
