WASHINGTON— With Northwest Florida having such a massive military presence, including being home to Eglin Air Force Base, Pensacola Naval Air Station, and several other military installations, it is hard to believe that the region does not have a Veteran’s Affairs hospital. CFO Jimmy Patronis, who is running for Congress in Florida’s 1st District, says that he is “advocating” for a VA hospital to be built there.
According to Patronis, who spoke exclusively to The Floridian, the government “should be more proactive” in addressing the needs of veterans, adding that more should be done to help help.
“We got to challenge the status quo sometimes because the needs are there in Northwest Florida, and we need to make sure we are listening to those with the needs that they are not getting fulfilled. And part of it is bringing a VA hospital online. I will be advocating for that,” said Patronis.
Patronis was endorsed by President-elect Donald Trump in the 10-person special Republican congressional primary race in District 1.
