MIAMI—Miami Mayor Francis Saurez shared a post on Sunday highlighting President-elect Donald Trump's Hispanic support, which has reached an all-time high.
"If you’re surprised by these numbers, then you haven’t been listening to Hispanics," Saurez said on social media.
According to YouGov polls, Trump had a 48% favorability rating among Hispanics as of Nov. 26, compared to a 45% unfavorable rating. A week prior, Trump earned an even 48% favorability/unfavorability among Hispanics.
The poll also indicated Trump's support has grown among Hispanics in recent months.
On Nov. 12, Trump received a 42% approval to 47% disapproval from the demographic. Back on Oct. 15, Trump was underwater with Hispanics at 35% approval to 61% disapproval.
Across all four polls, Trump's popularity with Hispanics has risen 13 points while his unpopularity has dropped 16 points since Oct. 15.
Previously, Saurez expressed appeal among Hispanics to Trump was rising in an interview with Kassie Hunt on CNN This Morning. He also stressed the importance of border security as a specific reason why Hispanics were shifting towards Trump and the Republican Party.
During the 2024 presidential election, Trump received 45% of the Hispanic vote, according to NBC News exit polls. Trump's Hispanic vote percentage was the highest for a Republican presidential nominee, beating the previous mark of 44% by George W. Bush in 2004.
The poll also showed Hispanic support for the Democratic Party has dropped over the past four presidential cycles.
In 2012, Democratic President Barack Obama received 71% of Hispanic support over Republican Mitt Romney. Four years later, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, earned 66% support.
President Joe Biden, who defeated Trump in 2020, received slightly less support than Clinton at 65%. However, the mark dropped significantly for Vice President Kamala Harris to 53% in her defeat to Trump in November's general election.
Trump also was more popular among Hispanics than Harris in Florida, which Trump carried by 13 points overall. According to an exit survey by the 2024 American Electorate Poll of Hispanic Voters, Trump received 56% of the Hispanic vote in Florida.
Trump also became the first Republican presidential candidate to win Miami-Dade County, which is 70% Hispanic, since George H.W. Bush in 1988. For context, Trump lost Miami-Dade County by 7 points to Joe Biden in 2020.
