US Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) has been selected to lead the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.

“I’m grateful and humbled by the trust my peers within the Republican Conference have placed in me by electing me the next chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Under my leadership, our committee will have a clear mission statement: Every dollar and every diplomat will put America First," said Representative Mast.

Mast, a former volunteer with the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), has been openly critical of the US’ foreign policy under President Joe Biden

“I look forward to working with President Donald Trump, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, future Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Chairman Mario Diaz-Balart, and Speaker Mike Johnson to repair our broken foreign policy through a comprehensive State Department reauthorization,” continued Mast.

Conservative lawmakers congratulated Mast on his selection, similarly criticizing President Biden’s policies.

House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) congratulated Mast, claiming he would help bring change to America’s foreign policy.

“Following four years of failed, misguided foreign policy decisions from the Biden-Harris Administration, President Trump will have his hands full," said Speaker Mike Johnson. "And as the newly elected Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Brian Mast will work closely with the Trump Administration to reverse American decline and restore our strength on the world stage.

Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) a veteran and friend of Mast, similarly celebrated Mast’s election.

“I can think of no one better suited for the role,” said Representative Mills. “I am honored to consider him not only a colleague but also a dear friend. Together, we’ll continue to prioritize America, Americans, and American interests above all else.”

The Foreign Affairs Committee covers legislative issues vis-a-vis foreign assistance, national security, the deployment and use of United States Armed Forces, arms control, and many more similar issues.
