President-elect Donald Trump (R) has appointed the core members of his administration. After a snafu surrounding his initial pick for U.S. Attorney General, the President-elect opted to nominate Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R). Conservatives have since lauded Bondi, but Democrats like Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) have dismissed her as a "Trump lackey." Calling Bondi's work "incredible," Florida congresswoman-elect Meg Weinberger (R) believes she's much more than a "lackey."

Bondi and President Trump share a strong friendship, so it's no surprise that the president-elect would tap her to lead the Department of Justice. Because of this friendship, Democrats worry about the threat it could pose to the country. Rep. Wasserman Schultz, earlier this week, noted this concern, warning that President Trump was appointing people who would most likely do his bidding.

Republicans don't exactly see it that way.

From Senator Rick Scott (R) to former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R), who was President Trump's initial pick for Attorney General, conservatives have praised Bondi's work as Florida's former Attorney General, adding that she will contribute to much-needed reform at the DOJ.

State Rep-elect Weinberger, who recently and decisively won her state House District 94, shared her enthusiasm for Bondi's appointment with The Floridian.

Sharing that she is "honored and proud" to list Bondi among her friends, Rep.-elect Weinberger stated that Bondi "did an incredible job as the Attorney General of the great state of Florida."

"Pam will do an incredible job as U.S. Attorney General. She has always been a steadfast supporter and friend to President Donald Trump and will continue to support President Trump's America First agenda. I am honored to call her my friend," Rep.-elect Weinberger added.

President-elect Trump announced Bondi as Rep. Gaetz's replacement shortly after Rep. Gaetz shared that he would be withdrawing his nomination. Rep. Gaetz then took to social media to share glowing reviews of Bondi's work.
