Wasserman Schultz Called Pam Bondi a 'Trump Lackey'

Last week, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) shocked the political world when he announced he was withdrawing his nomination for Attorney General under the Trump Administration. President Donald Trump (R) quickly named former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R) as his replacement. As the president-elect's nominations begin to take shape, Democrats continue to sound the alarm on the threat certain nominees could potentially present. Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) is now calling attention to Bondi, calling her a "Trump lackey."

During an interview with CNN, Rep. Wasserman Schultz commented on the "thud" that Gaetz's exit has made, pointing out the danger that Bondi poses in leading the Department of Justice under President Trump's "chaos cabinet."

Though the Democratic congresswoman did note that Bondi has "the requisite experience" for the role, Rep. Wasserman Schultz commented that "she comes with the heaviness of having been a massive election denier."

She went on to comment that Bondi suggested "that there were fake ballots stuffed in Pennsylvania" during the 2020 election, but even more dangerous is the fact that she "looked the other way when Trump University clearly committed massive fraud robbing students of millions of dollars after she got a $25,000 contribution to her PAC from Donald Trump."

Rep. Gaetz took to social media shortly after President Trump named Bondi as his replacement, calling her a "stellar selection" for the role.

Because the former Florida congressman resigned from his seat eight days after being nominated for Attorney General, he won't be returning to his House seat. However, rumors have swirled regarding the possibility of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) appointing him to the Senate if he doesn't decide to run for his old seat.

For now, Rep. Gaetz is keeping busy with a new gig - offering personalized videos on cameo for over $500 a video.
