Luna Praises Trump's Budget Chief Pick Russell Vought, Stresses Importance of Unity in Cabinet

President-elect Donald Trump tapped Russell Vought to head the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), a move Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) commended in a Friday night appearance on Fox News's Ingraham Angle, where she called Vought "an absolute patriot" and discussing the importance of the unity in Trump's Cabinet picks.

"I know that he is not only an absolute patriot, but he is very serious about cleaning up DC, and part of the problem that we are having is, again, these deep-state bureaucrats that think that they can outlast administrations and the will of the American people, and so you have to get new blood into Washington DC, from the secretary positions to the federal jobs. I mean, we just need a flush all the way through. So I am very happy that President Trump appointed him, and frankly, I am pretty excited to have him back up in Washington DC," said Rep. Luna.

Host Laura Ingraham noted the strong ideological unity in Trump's Cabinet selections, and all of them have been vocal supporters of his, asking Rep. Luna how important it will be to advance Trump's agenda.

The Florida Congresswoman said their unity was indeed important, and "it is also important that the [who] surround him have his back. We saw in 2016 that there were many blocks and also people within his administration that were knifing him the entire time."

Moreover, while House Republicans, who have retained the majority, are united, Luna said she does "have some concerns in the Senate that they will potentially block anything in regards to border security if we do not push mass amnesty, which would also be very wrong. So I am hoping that on day one, President Trump can get in, lock it down via executive order, and really force Congress to do the right thing and stand up for the American people, secure our border, and do exactly what we promised we would do on the campaign trail, back the President."
