DeSantis Begins Search for Senator Rubio's Replacement

After announcing that he was going to appoint Senator Marco Rubio’s successor sometime in January, politicos in Florida and Washington, D.C., began to speculate who would be tasked to fill Sen. Rubio’s shoes.

While many believe Gov. DeSantis will either appoint himself or appoint someone to hold the Senate seat for him, “America’s Governor” may not want to break from his “Never Back Down” persona and reputation, and could install someone that would not be perceived as being a loyalist to himself or President-elect Donald Trump.

If Gov. DeSantis appoints himself, he would arguably be quitting his job as Governor of Florida. In other words, DeSantis would be throwing his “Never Back Down” argument right out the window, if he makes a play for Rubio's Senate seat.

Gov. DeSantis’ Chief of Staff James Uthemeier, AG Ashley Moody, Reps. Cory Mills and Laurel Lee, and now State Senator Jay Collins are all considered potential Senate candidates.

Trump supporters like Sen. Rick Scott have been urging DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump to Sen. Rubio’s seat, but what are the chances that DeSantis appeases Trump world?

Florida deserves a Senator who will help President Trump deliver on his election mandate, be strong on immigration and border security, take on the entrenched bureaucracy and administrative state, reverse the nation’s fiscal decline, be animated by conservative principles, and has a proven record of results,” stated DeSantis.

None of the potential senatorial candidates, except for DeSantis himself, Rep. Mills, and Senator Collins, check off all the “election mandate” points he listed.

DeSantis has rightfully set the bar pretty high in replacing Rubio. Considering how he appears to embrace and cherish a military ethos, it’s hard to believe that he wouldn’t appoint someone to the Senate who also has a military background.

Rick Scott-Too often, Washington politicians sneak their passion projects and political favors into spending bills.

It’s time @DOGE looked into every one of these unnecessary programs to rid us of reckless spending once and for all.

Gus Bilirakis-We're demanding answers & accountability for the hurricane victims ignored by FEMA because of their support for President Trump. This blatant political vendetta against Americans during a time of crisis is disgusting and unacceptable.
