Attorney General Matt Gaetz?

When President-elect Donald Trump nominated Rep. Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, millions of collected Democratic heads exploded in anger.

Rep. Gaetz is the proverbial political boogeyman to Democrats, and being nominated to lead and overhaul the Department of Justice is like showing Count Dracula a crucifix to Democrats.

Gaetz has widespread support, but he also has Republican detractors who may not side with President Trump and confirm him once he stands before the U.S. Senate.

“He will go in and reform the Department of Justice. It desperately needs it. Look, he and I sat on the Judiciary Committee together for almost 7 years before I became Speaker of the House, and we heard the evidence, we saw the evidence of lawfare,  we saw how the Department of Justice had been used for political purposes, how they targeted Catholics in some examples, and parents at school boards. and pro-life Americans.  This is not what our system of justice was built to do, and Matt Gaetz will go in there and shake it up, and I think most of the American people understand that's an important function.”—Speaker of the House Mike Johnson
