Cruz Describes Harris as 'Extreme' and 'Left of Bernie Sanders'

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared on Newsmax to discuss the policy record of former Senator and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) during her time serving in the upper chamber — Sen. Cruz, who is running against Representative Colin Allred (R-TX) in a tightening race.

The Texas senator was asked if he had been surprised by President Joe Biden (D) 's alleged poor relationship with VP Harris.

“You know, it doesn't. There's been bad blood between them from the beginning, but there's a big difference. Look, Joe is senile now. He's a puppet. He's not aware of what's going on,” said Sen Cruz. “Kamala is a true believer. She is a zealot. I served with Kamala every day she was in the Senate from the day she got elected, and she has always been hard left 100% of the time.”

Sen. Cruz continued, comparing the vice president to Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and (I-VT) Bernie Sanders, going as far as to say she’s more liberal on the political compass than her former colleagues.

“Her voting record is to the left of Bernie Sanders and to the left of Elizabeth Warren. Now I serve with Bernie and Elizabeth. There ain't much room to their left, and yet she managed to get there,” said Cruz. “She is a hardcore idealogue, so everything you don't like about the Biden administration, if Kamala is president, God forbid, it gets worse, because she is a true believer.”

Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Ted Cruz have released their response to the Bureau of Economic Analysis's latest personal consumption expenditures (PCE) report. These findings indicated that the prices of American goods and services had increased by 2.1% over the year in the month of September.

Since the Biden-Harris administration took office in January of 2021, inflation has risen more than 20%, according to Sens. Scott and Cruz in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.

“The past four years, runaway inflation has made it increasingly difficult for families to make ends meet. Since the Biden-Harris administration took office, consumer prices in U.S. cities have risen 26% faster than private-sector wages,” wrote the senators. “Paychecks now buy less than they did in January 2021. During the four years Donald Trump was in office, inflation-adjusted private-sector wages rose by 8.1%. That means real private-sector wages today are effectively 11.8% lower than they would have been if the Trump-era economy had continued for another four years.”

Along with Sen. Cruz, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) is also involved in a tightening race in the Sunshine State.
