MIAMI - The University of Miami and Florida Interntional University ranked third and eighth respectively among best colleges and universities in Florida, according to a study released by WalletHub.
For their findings, WalletHub analyzed more than 800 schools in America across 30 key measures, including student selectivity, cost & financing and career outcomes.
Specifically, the University of Miami ranked 61st for student selectivity, 248th for career outcomes, and 787th for cost & financing. The university also ranked 107th for educational outcomes, 211th for campus experience, 241st for campus safety, and 477th for faculty resources for a total score of 64.43.
Overall, the University of Miami rated 116th in America of best colleges and universities.
Also making the list, Florida Interntional University ranked 30th for cost & financing, 179th for educational outcomes, and 186th for campus safety. The school also ranked 247th for student selectivity, 446th for career outcomes, 746th for campus experience, and 810th for faculty resources for a total score of 60.01.
Overall, Florida Interntional University ranked 213th in America. The school also earned high marks in a previous study by U.S. News and World Report.
Among best in the state, the University of Florida took the top spot and ranked 20th in the country. The school specifically earned a 21st mark for educational outcomes, 57th for student selectivity, 84th for campus safety, and 85th for cost & financing for a total score of 74.42.
UF was followed by Florida State University, which ranked 51st in the country. Other state schools making the list included the University of South Florida at 150th overall, University of Central Florida at 157th, Florida Polytechnic University at 188th, and Rollins College at 192nd.
The study listed Princeton University in the top spot followed by Yale University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dartmouth College.
