State Senator Lori Berman on Oct 7 Anniversary: 'Israel Remains Strong'

State Senator Lori Berman (D-FL) has released a statement on the first anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack committed by Hamas against Israel, which led to the death of over 1,000 Israelis. It also catalyzed the unrest in the Middle East, which has seen groups such as the Jewish State, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and other organizations and countries.

The Florida state senator described the event as something that sustained a “lasting scar” on Israel and the Jewish world.

“One year ago today, the people of Israel experienced an unspeakable act of violence that forever altered countless lives,” said State Sen. Berman’s office. “On October 7, we witnessed a brutal terrorist attack that took the lives of innocent civilians, shattered families, and left a lasting scar on the nation of Israel and the Jewish community around the world.”

Moreover, State Sen. Berman provided a statement herself, commenting on the strength of the Jewish community, especially in Israel.

“The resilience of the Israeli people and the unwavering bond between the United States and Israel remain strong. Florida has always stood firmly alongside Israel, and I, as a proud Jewish Senator, remain committed to ensuring that this relationship endures,” said Berman.

Finally, the state senator’s office encouraged Floridians to remember “the importance of fighting against hate, terrorism, and anti-Semitism wherever they arise.”

“We must continue to work toward peace and security for Israel, a future where such senseless acts of violence have no place in our world, and above all else ensure the hostages are freed,” concluded Berman’s office.

Additionally, President Joe Biden (D) declined to support Israel’s planned strikes on Iranian oil facilities at a recent press conference.

“Well, look, the Israelis have not concluded how they’re — what they’re going to do in terms of a strike,” said Biden. “That’s under discussion.  I think there are — if I were in their shoes, I’d be thinking about other alternatives than striking oil fields.”

When asked about the notion that the Israeli government could wait until the election to sign any diplomatic agreements in an attempt to influence the race, President Biden said:

“No administration has helped Israel more than I have. None. None. None. And I think Bibi should remember that,” said President Biden.
