Scott Slams Biden-Harris Administration on Inflation Numbers as Election Looms

Share

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has released his weekly analysis of the national debt and inflation figures provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These figures highlight the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Producer Price Index (PPI), which have risen significantly since President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) took office.

For instance, Sen. Scott claims CPI has risen by 20.5% and PPI by 20% since President Biden and VP Harris stepped into the Oval Office. Bankrate, which reports that the CPI has increased 21.4% since February 2020 (the start of the pandemic), confirms these numbers.

Sen. Scott hammered the notion home that Floridians are attempting to recover from Hurricanes Helene and Milton while dealing with higher prices under the Biden-Harris administration.

“As I travel around Florida to meet with local, state and federal officials, hear from families and help coordinate resources to ensure our state fully recovers from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, one thing that remains a top concern for folks in our state is the horrific inflation caused by the reckless spending policies of the Biden-Harris administration,” said Sen. Scott.

He continued by sharing his solution to Washington’s lack of “fiscal sanity” through legislation including non-refundable tax breaks.

“While I fight to bring fiscal sanity back to Washington and end the reckless government spending that caused the Harris Price Hikes we see today, I’m committed to doing everything I can to bring costs down for families,” said Scott. “That’s why I introduced legislation that provides a non-refundable tax break to families who purchase flood insurance coverage, either through the private market or the NFIP, and another bill that provides a $10,000 tax break for property insurance premiums.”

Finally, the Florida senator added that Sunshine State residents shall overcome and recover but that he is working “every step of the way” to rein in federal spending.

“These commonsense bills will help lower costs for Floridians while we battle to rein in the Biden-Harris administration’s historic inflation,” said Scott. “Floridians are strong. We will recover and I will be there every step of the way to make sure Washington works for you.”

The former Florida Governor is attempting to retain his seat in the Senate as he is fending off a challenge from former Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL). Floridians will vote between the two on Nov. 5.
