Moskowitz Slams MTG for Claiming Hurricane Milton is Manmade

Share

Hurricane Milton has made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida. As Floridians brace for the results of the hurricane, Floridian Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) is calling into question lawmakers who suggest that the hurricane is manmade. Rep. Moskowitz called the Hurricane Milton claim “dangerous,” pushing back against Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) (R).

During an interview with MSNBC, Rep. Moskowitz discussed the threat that hurricane Milton poses on the state, noting that arguments have popped up claiming that the hurricane was fabricated through the use of a "weather machine."

Rep. MTG appeared to flirt with the claim after sharing a CBS This Morning segment with Michio Kaku, famed physics professor, wherein he discusses climate control. In the news segment, the anchor shares that “scientists and researchers are looking at how to change the weather on purpose… lasers could one day manipulate rain and lightning.”

To the video, MTG commented that “’They’” say this is disinformation,” adding that “’they’ also say humans cause climate change” before questioning, “is this not climate change?”

Rep. Moskowitz took issue with the claim that the hurricane is manmade, naming MTG as the head of “the Mensa Caucus.”

“If there are aliens watching, and they’re looking at all of this, they can definitely confirm there is no intelligent life in Congress with Marjorie Taylor Green, talking about a weather machine being used for politics,” he added.

Dismissing the Republican’s arguments as “very dangerous” misinformation, he noted that it is the responsibility of Emergency Managers, Republicans, and Democrats alike to combat the misinformation.

Rep. Moskowitz then went on to suggest that “foreign actors” are involved in dispensing the idea that the hurricane is manmade, warning that these “foreign actors” only want to sow “more confusion and more division.”

“Does that mean Donald Trump used the weather machine to send Maria to Puerto Rico?” Rep. Moskowitz questioned in reference to an alleged "weather machine" being used.
