Trump Loves Ron, Again?
After a very contentious 2024 presidential primary contest, where former President Donald Trump defeated him in the Iowa Caucuses by 20 points, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is getting some much-deserved praise from the former President as a result of his actions before, during, and after Hurricane Milton struck the state.
In a social media address to the nation, President Trump loved on Gov. DeSantis:
"God bless the great state of Florida. Your governor is doing an excellent job. I’ve been talking to him, and watching. Ron is doing a really good job. We’re proud of him."-President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Gov. DeSantis has been in Sarasota and St. Lucie Counties to assess storm damage.
Ron DeSantis-Â toured damage in Sarasota County, including in Siesta Key where Hurricane Milton made landfall last night.
With the full support of the state, and the pre-staging of over 50,000 linemen, utility companies and telecommunications providers are working hard to restore power and connectivity to these communities as quickly as possible.
Florida is working closely with our local and federal partners, alongside businesses and charitable organizations, to make sure Floridians get the help they need to get back on their feet.
We are a resilient state, and I have no doubt that Siesta Key and all areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton will bounce back. We are here for them every step of the way.
