Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump participated in parallel Fox News interviews last night.
Both were pressed on controversial campaign issues, previous statements, and their official records while in office.
Vice President Harris was interviewed by Brett Baier in a one-on-one interview while President Trump hosted a town hall moderated by Harris Faulkner.
Harris’s interview with Baier was unusually fiery, with the latter frequently returning to previously asked questions the former would pivot away from.
When asked about the number of illegal immigrants entering the country during her administration, for example, Harris complained “she wished she could be getting to answer” as Baier attempted to restate the original question Harris had not provided an answer to.
Harris was further questioned about issues like high inflation and President Joe Biden’s mental state.
Another contentious moment arose when Harris refused to answer whether she continues supporting tax-payer funded transgender surgeries for prison inmates.
“I will follow the law,” said Harris when asked whether she would continue supporting the public financing of the medical procedures.
Trump heavily criticized Harris’ answers and called her “incompetent” while undermining her cognitive capabilities.
“Again, congratulations to Bret Baier on a tough but very fair interview, one that clearly showed how totally incompetent Kamala is,” said Trump. “For the good of our Nation, her inferior Cognitive ability must be tested at once!”
Trump faced his own set of questions from Fox’s Faulkner, ranging from immigration, to ensuring securing amongst minority communities, to the economy, to abortion.
On abortion, Trump explained the issue has torn the US apart and assured voters returning authority over abortion to the states is the best remedy to the divisive issue.
Trump further assured women voters states’ decisions over abortion will “ultimately be the right thing.”
