Donalds Praises Vance as 'Leader' After Debate

Share

Last night, Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) went head-to-head on the debate stage, sharing their respective arguments with the American people. Polling shows that Senator Vance emerged victorious from the debate. Republicans are now celebrating the win, assuring that the choice for Americans is clear in November. Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) is now praising Senator Vance for his debate performing, calling him a “leader” who will be the country’s next vice president.

Last month, President Donald Trump (R) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) faced off in a contentious debate, which many felt the vice president won. However, the tide has shifted after last night’s vice-presidential debate as polls show Senator Vance had a stronger showing.

During an interview with Fox News after the debate, Rep. Donalds commented that Senator Vance showed why voters should support the Trump-Vance ticket in November.

“JD kept the pressure on all night, keeping it to policy,” Rep Donalds said.

“It exposed the fact that he’s [Governor Walz] not ready because they’re hiding from the press,” the Florida Republican added. “They can’t explain anything, so when you have to sit there in front of the world and talk about what you’re gonna do, you simply can’t, and that’s a problem for them.”

Rep. Donalds further assessed that video clips from the debate would go viral on social media, showing that Senator Vance is more qualified than the Minnesota governor.

Governor Walz addressed controversy surrounding previous comments wherein he said that he was present in Hong Kong during protests in Tiananmen Square. When asked to clarify if he was there, the governor said that he "misspoke" on the issue.

“All I said on this was, I got there that summer and misspoke on this, so I will just – that’s what I’ve said,” Governor Walz said.“I was in Hong Kong and China during the democracy protests went in. And from that, I learned a lot of what needed to be in, in governance."
