US Strikes Terrorist Targets in Syria as Israel Dismantles Hezbollah Leadership

Share

US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces executed precision strikes against several terrorist operatives in Syria over the weekend. CENTCOM’s strikes parallel Israel’s expanded offensive against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

CENTCOM reported its strikes killed 37 terrorist operatives, including multiple senior leaders of ISIS and Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda affiliate.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes form part of the US’ broader initiative to counteract destabilizing terrorist cells across the Middle East.

“These strikes against leadership and operatives of ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din, represent CENTCOM's commitment to the enduring defeat of terrorist organizations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility and our support to regional stability," said CENTCOM commander General Michael Erik Kurilla.

No civilians were harmed during the strikes.

While continuing to fight Hamas in Gaza, Israel has recently shifted military assets to Northern Israel to diminish Hezbollah’s capacity to inflict harm on Israeli civilians.

Over the last few days, Israel has eliminated crucial Hezbollah weapons’ stockpiles and killed senior Hezbollah leaders, including its top leader Hassan Nasrallah.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported on their contra-Hezbollah operation’s success via X.

An IDF infographic outlines Israel’s surgical excision of Hezbollah main leadership while the IDF underscored its commitment to “continue operating to dismantle the capabilities of the Hezbollah terrorist army.”

Further East, Israel also struck terrorist Houthi positions in Yemen.

Since Hamas’ attacks on Israel, Houthi forces have executed daily drone attacks against ships believed to have direct or indirect links to the US, Israel, or any of their allies.

Houthi attacks have sunk commercial vessels, disrupting international trade lines and risking catastrophic environmental maritime disasters

As the anniversary of the October 7th attacks nears, Houthi forces have pledged to increase the rate and severity of their attacks against Israel and its allies.
