The Trump-Vance campaign announced this week that August was a big month for fundraising for the Republican presidential ticket. Exceeding internal benchmarks and highlighting significant support from grassroots donations, the Trump-Vance ticket celebrated a massive fundraising month.
In a message to supporters, the Trump-Vance campaign announced that they had fundraised over $130 million. 98% of the donations that were made in August were under $200. According to the Trump-Vance campaign, "this resulted in an average donation of $56, from everyday Americans." The campaign ended August with $295 million cash on hand, which they argue ensures "the resources needed to propel President Trump's campaign to victory."
Brian Hughes, President Trump's campaign senior advisor, commented on the campaign reaching this milestone, saying that "with Republicans united and a growing number of Independents and disaffected Democrats crossing partisan lines, the Trump-Vance campaign has momentum for the final stretch of the race." Hughes further commented that "these fundraising numbers from August are a reflection of that movement and will propel President Trump's America First movement back to the White House so we can undo the terrible failures of Harris and Biden."
The Trump campaign has also enlisted help on the campaign trail after Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (I) suspended his campaign and endorsed the former president last month. This move is expected to boost support for the president in the voting booth on November 5th.
News of the fundraising milestone comes at a time when Vice President Kamala Harris' (D) campaign and the Democratic National Committee are reportedly moving to invest $25 million to support down-ballot Democrats. The Harris-Walz ticket has also reached fundraising milestones of its own, and the investment aims to support Democratic candidates for House and Senate, state legislative candidates, and Democratic gubernatorial and attorney general candidates.
President Donald Trump (R) has commented that a significant amount of campaign resources will go to organizing and training watchers to appear at polling sites on Election Day, but no specific amount has been mentioned.
