Loomer Accused of Being Xenophobic, Hurting Trump's Campaign

Activist Laura Loomer is being attacked by conservative lawmakers following criticism from Democrats about allegedly xenophobic comments she made regarding Vice President Kamala Harris. 

Loomer, who has been actively campaigning with former President Donald Trump, joked that a Harris White House would “smell like curry,” ridiculing Harris’ Indian heritage. 

Republican and Democrat lawmakers alike have condemned Loomer’s comments. 

US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) rejected Loomer’s comments, claiming they were not representative of the “MAGA movement.”

“Laura Loomer’s outright lies, instability, and manic toxicity have no place in MAGA,” said Representative Greene. 

Similarly, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) concurred with Greene, adding that Loomer’s track record is not “helpful.”

“"Marjorie Taylor Greene is right. I don't say that a lot... but the history of this person is just really toxic...I don't think it's helpful at all," Graham told the Huffington Post.

Loomer’s comments sparked wider controversy after White House Press Secretary Karine Jeane Pierre criticized Loomer during a press briefing. 

“It is unamerican to say these types of things,” said Secretary Pierre. “It does not matter what your political views are, you should condemn these repugnant words. No leader should associate with someone who spreads this kind of ugliness.”

Loomer has refused to back down, however, resurfacing a video of President Joe Biden similarly joking about Indians and Curry in 2008. 

Additionally Loomer attacked Graham, Greene, and Pierre for their criticism of her. 

Loomer questioned Greene’s loyalty to Trump, alleging Greene has not done enough to support the former president. 

“I have done all of the heavy lifting while you have been writing books and attacking Trump’s closest Allies in an effort to elevate yourself,” said Loomer. 

Regarding Pierre, Loomer recalled her role in reportedly concealing President Biden’s mental state and advertising his administration’s failed policies. 

“This woman has spent the last four years lying to the American people about Joe Biden’s mental state and she has spread countless conspiracies to the American people in an effort to justify the failed leadership of Biden-Harris,” said Loomer.
