Breaking Reports Suggest Iran Actively Seeking to Assassinate Trump

Share

Former President Donald Trump was reportedly briefed by US intelligence officials on Iranian plots to assassinate him.

The reports come days after the US intelligence community exposed election-meddling activities by Iran against President Trump

Trump defiantly commented on the news via X, warning of future retribution for any assassination attempts.

“An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker,” said Trump

Trump has survived two assassination attempts to date and has seen his security detail expand in recent days.

Earlier this week, Senator Rick Scott’s (R-FL) Enhanced Presidential Security Act to afford Trump sitting-president secret service protection passed Congress unanimously.

Upon approval by President Joe Biden, Senator Scott’s legislation would grant presidential-level secret service protection to all presidential and vice-presidential nominees.

The legislation follows concerns former President Donald Trump was not receiving sufficient Secret Service protection after suffering two assassination attempts.

Senator Scott praised the passage of the bill and urged President Joe Biden to approve it.

“Over the course of just 65 days, two deranged individuals have tried to kill President Donald Trump, and one was able to shoot him in the head,” said Scott. “It is unthinkable that this could happen in America today, and it demands the immediate action of Congress.”

Iran’s alleged assassination plans against Trump have augmented security concerns around Trump, his campaign, and other political officials.

Iran has been actively interfering in the lead-up to the US’ November presidential elections, primarily to subvert Trump’s campaign.

The US intelligence community has repeatedly announced it has tracked surreptitious Iranian operations undermining targeting Trump and his campaign.

Last week, US intelligence officials unveiled individuals associated with Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign received stolen Trump campaign information from Iran.

The Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI), Central Intelligence Administration (CIA), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) revealed the information

According to a joint statement, “Iranian malicious cyber actors in late June and early July sent unsolicited emails” to Biden-Harris campaign staffers.

Such activity was not limited to June and July, however.

“Iranian malicious cyber actors have continued their efforts since June to send stolen, non-public material associated with former President Trump’s campaign to U.S. media organizations,” continues the statement.
