Trump, Harris Agree to Sept. 10 Debate on ABC

Share

Former President Donald Trump (R) announced on his social media site Truth Social that his campaign and Vice President Kamala Harris’ (D) campaign have reached an agreement on their first (and possibly only) debate before the election on Nov. 5. The event will be held on ABC, a news outlet that President Trump is currently in litigation with alongside one of its anchors, George Stephanopoulos.

The former president alluded to Stephanopoulos in his social media post on Monday.

“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” said Trump.

He continued by discussing the rules that have been set in place, taking a shot at President Joe Biden (D) in the process.

“The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden. The Debate will be ‘stand up,’ and Candidates cannot bring notes, or ‘cheat sheets,’” said Trump. One of the most discussed rules is whether the mics will be intermittently muted or continuously on.

He also alluded to when former CNN contributor and former DNC interim chair Donna Brazile leaked town hall and primary debate topics to then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ Debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!),” said the former president.

Finally, Trump concluded by stating that VP Harris has not agreed to the proposed Fox News Debate on Sep. 4 but will remain a possibility in case she “flip flops” on her decision.

“Harris would not agree to the FoxNews Debate on September 4th, but that date will be held open in case she changes her mind or, Flip Flops, as she has done on every single one of her long held and cherished policy beliefs. A possible third Debate, which would go to NBC FAKE NEWS, has not been agreed to by the Radical Left. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” concluded Trump.

Harris and Trump will square off in the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia at 9 p.m. eastern.
