Republican lawmakers from Florida and Texas blasted the Biden-Harris administration after a House Judiciary Committee report surfaced detailing that Border Patrol has released “at least 99” illegal aliens on the terrorist watch list into the United States. The report also revealed 27 illegal immigrants on the list were given bond by immigration judges, according to Fox News.
In response to this report, U.S. Representatives Greg Steube (R-FL), Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and State Senator Jay Collins (R-FL) spoke to The Floridian calling out what they believe to be poor leadership in both the White House and the Department of Homeland Security, ran by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Rep. Steube referred to the findings of this report as evidence of “dereliction of duty” by the Biden-Harris administration and Sec. Mayorkas.
“Under Biden-Harris, more than 360 individuals on the terror watchlist have been encountered at our border, and now we learned 99 have actually been recorded as released into our country. That’s a track record of 1 in 4! And what about the gotaways? Border security is national security, and the Biden-Harris open border has caused America to be more vulnerable to a terrorist attack than we’ve been in years,” said Rep. Steube. “This is dereliction of duty, and absolutely no one has been held accountable. To say the least, the Senate should finish impeaching Mayorkas. Kamala Harris has clearly shown the American people she can’t be trusted with our safety or security.”
Furthermore, Rep. Van Duyne stated that these findings should confirm the Republicans’ calls for impeachment against Mayorkas.
“Add this to the reasons why we impeached Sec. Mayorkas for aiding Biden & Harris as they endangered our country and created a national security nightmare,’ said Rep. Van Duyne. “None of this had to happen, but Biden-Harris wanted open borders and now we have terrorists roaming free here in America.”
Additionally, State Sen. Collins shared that a “weak, DEI-focused approach” led to this concerning news.
“This is a complete failure by President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Secretary Mayorkas. Their dereliction of duty endangers Americans. Dozens of terrorists have crossed our borders due to their negligence. We cannot continue with this weak, DEI-focused approach. Peace comes when our enemies respect us and our allies trust us. It starts with securing our border,” said State Sen. Collins.
Moreover, Rep. Gosar mentioned that American families are "not safe" with the Biden-Harris administration in charge.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have welcomed into our country with open arms more than 13 million illegal aliens, including hundreds of known terrorists, many of whom have been released into our communities. Families in America are not safe because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” stated Congressman Gosar.
In late July, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) described the situation at the border as a “catastrophe” with Vice President Kamala Harris (D) as border czar.
“Hundreds of potential terrorists have been allowed to illegally cross our border under Kamala’s tenure as border czar. Our country is becoming less safe by the day under the Biden/Harris border catastrophe,” said Sen. Scott.
