Mills Warns New Footage from Trump Assassination Attempt Blurs Negligence and Intent

The events of the attempt on former President Donald Trump's life in Butler, Pennsylvania, grow curiouser and curiouser as new bodycam footage from one of the police officers at the scene has recently been released. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL), who is personally conducting an independent investigation of the shooting, reacted to the video in a recent appearance on Fox and Friends First, reiterating that the distinction between negligence and intent "is going to be almost impossible" to determine.

Rep. Mills, as a former (counter-)sniper in the military, said he and Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ), a fellow former (counter-)sniper, both visited the site and assessed the situation based on experience from both shooter Thomas Crooks' vantage point and the positions of the counter-snipers who neutralized him.

"I can tell you that this is why it is important for the Secret Service to show up to their morning meeting on the day of the rally in which the local law enforcement said that they did not even show up. There is no communication plan with a single emergency channel that everyone could be on," said Rep. Mills, noting that the counter-snipers were relying on text messages between each other to communicate.

As a result, "everything about this shows a complete lack of capability capacity. And this is where, in our independent investigation with myself, Eli Crane, Kash Patel, Eric Prince, and a bunch of others who are on there who actually have subject matter expertise, we have determined that we have waited so long that the idea of determining and making it distinguishable from gross negligence or criminal negligence from purposeful intent is going to be almost impossible."

The Florida Congressman had previously stated this worrying idea during an appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, vowing to uncover the truth.

"I am going to continue my independent investigation. It is my understanding that the task force has not even had a conference call or a meeting, so I am not sure what they are doing at this time. But I can tell you that we are going to get transparency and accountability because people need to ensure the safety of our nominee and our future president, as well as other elected officials, to guarantee this does not happen again," Mills said on Monday.
