Florida Medical Association Endorses Greco, Weinberger for State House

 The Florida Medical Association has weighed in on the hotly contested Republican primary races in state House Districts 94 and 19, endorsing Meg Weinberger and Sam Greco, respectively.

Greco is running to replace outgoing Speaker of the Florida House Paul Renner, and recently scored the coveted endorsement from Governor Ron DeSantis.

FMA PAC President, Charles Chase, D.O. said, “The FMA PAC is honored to endorse Sam Greco for House District 19. Sam has a record of service to our country that speaks for itself, and we look forward to working alongside him on important issues to medicine in the Florida House.”

Weinberger is expected to win her race handily as sentiment in the district appears to be leaning hard towards the philanthropist. The FMA endorsement is a blow to Anthony Aguirre and Democrat Rachelle Litt. Litt is a pharmacist, and according to her campaign website, she has been a staunch Democratic Party supporter who was deeply involved in all of the past Democratic presidential campaigns.

"Her firsthand experience dealing with the shortcomings of America’s healthcare system, both as a professional pharmacist and as a mom to children born with genetic medical conditions, was what initially inspired her to become involved in politics and public policy. Rachelle was involved as a grassroots organizer for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign as well as Congressman Patrick Murphy’s races for US House and US Senate. She was an organizer for and was elected to be a delegate to both the Hillary and Biden Democratic National Conventions in 2016 and 2020. Also in 2020, she was selected as a member of President-Elect Joe Biden’s Transition Healthcare Equity Policy Team."

Weinberger has been able to land endorsements from Reps. Byron Donalds, Cory Mills, Brian Mast, Matt Gaetz, and others, including the most sought-after endorsement in the country, the support of former President Donald Trump
