Could RFK Jr. be on his way to Endorsing Trump?

Share

Since 2016, Americans have consistently commented on how unorthodox each election has been. The 2024 presidential election will prove to be no different. From Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (I) running as an Independent to President Joe Biden (D) stepping down ahead of the Democratic National Convention, the 2024 election could take another turn by this weekend. According to recent comments from the RFK Jr.-Shanahan ticket, there could be an endorsement for President Donald Trump (R) in the near future.

During a recent interview with CNN, President Trump was asked to share his thoughts on RFK Jr. dropping out of the race. He was also asked about the possibility of tapping RFK Jr. for a position in his administration, and President Trump was open to the idea, saying "I like him. I respect him."

“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” President Trump said. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”

The comments come after both RFK Jr. and his running mate, Nicole Shanahan (I), have both suggested that they're open to not only dropping out of the race but also endorsing President Trump. The rumors of this occurring continue to circulate as RFK Jr. is expected to make a "big announcement" this weekend.

In a recent interview on Fox News, Shanahan criticized the Democratic Party, stating that they have "obstructed a fair election." When asked about the potential of dropping out of the race and endorsing President Trump, she reiterated that "the country is ready for an administration that represents unity."

Shanahan further commented that the RFK Jr.-Shanahan ticket is "willing to work with anyone who is sincere in their endeavor to fix and address" the issues the U.S. faces.
