Republican lawmakers have unleashed waves of criticism towards progressive legislators as the Democratic National Convention (DNC) gets underway in Chicago.
Republicans have attempted to belittle Democrats’ alleged gains in opinion polls since Vice President Kamala Harris became the presumptive Democrat nominee.
Less than one month ago, former President Donald Trump was the clear favorite in his bout with President Joe Biden for the presidency.
Since Vice President Harris entered the spotlight, however, polls have demonstrated a tighter race between her and President Trump.
Democrats are attempting to supercharge Harris’ campaign through the DNC.
Consequently, Republicans are attempting to counter Democrats’ initiatives through a public attack campaign criticizing Harris and her role in the Biden administration.
US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) hosted a press conference in Chicago, with Illinois Senator Ron Johnson (R-IL) to countervail and defy the DNC.
Senator Scott criticized Harris’ economic policies, claiming they would impoverish working class families if enacted.
“Families like the one I grew up in wouldn’t stand a chance in the Biden/Harris economy,” said Scott.

US Senator Marco Rubio(R-FL) similarly criticized Harris’ economic proposals.
“Hardworking families are hurting because of the Biden-Harris Administration,” said Senator Rubio.
One of Harris’ ideas that have stirred controversy are price controls on supermarket items.
Harris claimed she would introduce ‘the first ever federal ban on Price gouging on food.’
Such a policy would entail the US national government imposing price caps on food vendors.
Scott decried Harris’ idea, expounding price controls are “a plan we know has NEVER WORKED anywhere it’s been tried. Just ask anyone in Venezuela.”
US Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) harnessed the bevy of problems in Chicago-the DNC’s host city-to claim Democrat policies hurt Americans.
“Democrats pushed to defund the police, democrats bail out violent criminals, Democrats prioritize illegal aliens, Democrats refuse to prosecute violent criminals,” said Donalds.
