With the 2024 primary election in Florida just around the corner, candidates for elected office become more desperate in hopes of gaining an upper hand over their respective opponents by posting falsehoods, including calling them traitors to the U.S., as is the case with Rep. Brian Mast (R) and the anti-Israel and perceived antisemite "Christian" Pastor Rick Wiles.
Wiles, who runs a far-right Christian news site with an unbelievable history of antisemitism, has been calling Rep. Mast a traitor because he volunteered with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) after receiving an "Honorably Discharge" from the U.S. Army.
Remember, Rep. Mast lost both his legs, a digit, and suffered a traumatic injury to his left arm when he stepped on an IED while on patrol with the Army’s 75th Ranger Battalion during an operation in Afghanistan.
After his recovery at Walter Reed Medical Center, Mast received his discharge from the U.S. military and then volunteered in the IDF for about a month.
Wiles, a so-called Christian pastor, recently called Mast an Israeli agent and sent out a campaign mailer and published a video with a photoshopped image of Mast wearing an IDF uniform and walking with a flag of Israel.
Wiles photoshopped out the American flag for the Israeli one.
Could photoshopping out the American flag be considered an act of desecration?
The original image is of Mast walking in a parade holding the American flag and wearing the medals he earned while enlisted in the Army.
“Any American who wears a foreign military uniform is a traitor and should not be allowed to serve in Congress,” says Wiles who unlike Mast, never served in the U.S. military.
Maybe he was a Cub Scout?
In speaking to Israeli officials with knowledge of foreigners volunteering in the IDF, The Floridian has learned that Mast and others before him who volunteered with the IDF, did not have to swear an oath or make a committment to the Jewish State.
Wiles, whose apparent antisemite and anti-Israel rhetoric has been in full swing for years, has been railing against Mast for wearing his IDF uniform days after the Hamas terror attack in Israel on October 7, 2023 that left 1,200 Israelis dead, and several hundred more foreigners, including Americans.
Mast dusted off his IDF uniform and wore it in defiance of pro-Hamas Rep. Rashida Tlaib and the rest of the members of the “Hamas Caucus,” who all had not denounced the terrorist act, yet supported a “Free Palestine.”
Speaking of a “Free Palestine,” Wiles has expressed his support for a “Free Palestine.”
I do not object to Nike selling shoes with the Zionist hexagram logo. What I want to know is this: Can I buy Nike shoes with this symbol,” stated Wiles on “X.”
If elected to the House of Representatives (highly doubtful), will Wiles join the “Hamas Caucus?”
Much like Hamas and Hizbollah, Wiles has also called for the complete annihilation of the Jewish State.
Wiles has been echoing the antisemitic tropes used by Rep. Tlaib and other supporters of Hamas, refers to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “baby butcher” and Israel a “Zionist state” that is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In searching Wiles’ social media history, he doesn’t appear to condemn the October 7 Hamas terror attack. Instead, just about all the posts Wiles has made have been anti-Israeli, condemning their military operation in Gaza.
Wiles has even gone as far as to blame the COVID-19 pandemic on Jews for not believing in Jesus Christ.
Unbelievable.
“Let me tell you Mr. Netanyahu, let me tell you ADL: God. God is spreading it in your synagogues. You’re under judgment because you oppose his son, the Lord Jesus Christ,” stated Wiles
A couple more tropes:
“Antichrist Army attacked Red Cross humanitarian office in Gaza. Whatever happened to the ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu?”
“Bibi the Baby Butcher says the ICC arrest warrant for him is "anti-Semitism." It isn't "Jew hatred." It is love of children. He willingly slaughtered thousands of innocent children. Now the world is demanding justice.”
While Israel continues to wage war against Islamic fundamentalism, Wiles continues to wage his paper war against Israel and anyone who supports efforts to eradicate Hamas and radical Islam.
