The Republican party is rallying around former President Donald Trump as he becomes Republicans’ confirmed nominee for the 2024 general elections.

Numerous members of the Republican political class gave speeches yesterday night pledging their support for President Trump.

Among those who expressed loyalty to Trump were former political opponents either during this year’s or 2016’s Republican primary race.

Indeed, Governor Ron DeSanits, former Ambassador Nikki Haley, Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL), and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy all expressed loyalty for Trump.

Ambassador Haley proclaimed “ Donald Trump has my strong endorsement.” Haley added that the US “is at a critical moment.  We have a choice to make.  For more than a year, I said a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for President Kamala Harris.  After seeing the debate, everyone knows it’s true.”

Governor DeSantis, who was the last candidate to challenge Trump during this year’s primaries, lauded his once-opponent’s ability to lead the country.

“Our enemies do not confine their designs to between 10AM and 4PM. We need a commander-in-chief who can lead 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” said DeSantis. “Let’s send Joe Biden back to his basement, and let's send Donald Trump back to the White House.”

Senator Rubio, whose relationship with Trump has metamorphosed from political opponent to potential Vice President nominee to sworn ally, also expressed support.

Rubio claimed “Donald Trump has not just inspired our party, he has inspired a movement,” and promised “together, we will make Donald Trump our President again.”

Similarly, Senator Cruz, who refused to endorse Trump during the 2016 RNC, expounded his full support for the latter during this year’s RNC.

“Today, as a result of Joe Biden’s presidency, your family, your children, and the country are less safe. BUT, here is the good news: we can fix it and when Donald Trump is president, WE WILL FIX IT," said Cruz.
