Steube Discusses Fate of Biden's Campaign as Democrats Scramble After Debate

President Biden's performance during the first presidential debate between him and former President Donald Trump has raised serious concerns about his health and well-being, with some Democrats calling for Biden's withdrawal from the upcoming November election. Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) discussed the disarray within the Democratic Party in a recent appearance on Fox and Friends First, accusing them of being "hypocrites" for only reconsidering the President after the debate, ignoring the scandals surrounding him.

Rep. Steube underscored the urgency of the situation, recounting how a Democrat colleague approached him about the President's performance and the recent revelation that an expert in Parkinson's disease had visited the White House eight times over eight months. This urgency is further emphasized as more elected officials, both publicly and privately, are calling for Biden to drop out of the race.

"Well, they have all of these concerns. Republicans have had these concerns for years," Rep. Steube noted, referencing multiple incidents of Biden's cognitive and physical decline that Republicans have spoken of before.

However, for Democrats, the Florida Congressman suggested, "The corruption in the Biden crime family is okay, the Afghanistan withdrawal, all the horrible policies that they have, that is okay. The invasion on our southern border is okay. But suddenly [Biden] is performing poorly on the national stage in a debate against Trump, and the numbers are showing that, and suddenly they are all calling for his ouster, yet this guy still has the nuclear codes."

In other words, Steube called the Democratic Party operating on "hypocrisy" by claiming Biden should not run for a second term but is not calling for the invocation of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office already.

Host Carley Shimkus cited a CNN article claiming that House Minority Leader Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) could be the deciding factor in President Biden's campaign.

"if he stands in support, he could prove the barricade that holds back the restless revolt; if he tells Biden that support has collapsed, that will be more resounding than any poll or campaign fundraising email mocking pundits," the article said.

The Florida Congressman disagreed with the article, noting that First Lady Jill Biden and First Son Hunter Biden are working to keep the campaign afloat.

"I do not think that is going to matter, but Hakeem Jeffries has a lot of sway within the Democratic conference, so if he came out and said that [Biden should drop out], I mean, he is their number one in the House. I think that would be very telling to the conference and to the President, but I do not know if [Biden] is going to listen," Steube concluded.
