Moskowitz Says its up to Biden to Step Down, no one else

President Joe Biden (D) is fighting a bout with COVID-19, sinking number in the polls, and calls from his colleagues to step down. As the idea of Vice President Kamala Harris (D) stepping up to the plate looms closer, Democrats are assessing the best strategy moving forward. Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) says Democrats should consider what to do if voters “give Donald Trump the wheel” in November.

According to a CBS News Poll, 52% of national likely voters say that they would vote for President Donald Trump (R) compared to 47% who say they would vote for the incumbent president.

These numbers are alarming as President Biden faces a mountain of controversy, and Democrats share that the polls signal a greater concern to address.

“Isn’t this whole thing about winning? I mean, being right feels great, but if you don’t win, it’s irrelevant,” said Rep. Moskowitz during an interview with Kayleigh McEnany on Fox News.

“I think Democrats are trying to figure out how to win, and if you look at the polling, obviously the current path… doesn’t seem like we’re winning. If you look at all the state polling, and let’s just be honest… if we believe the polls, right now if you look at the blue wall and you look at other states, it doesn’t look right.”

When asked if he joins his other Democrat colleagues in calling on the president to step down, he was firm in his answer, saying that he isn’t calling on the president to do so because “he’s gotta make this decision himself.”

However, he does admit that the president is in a difficult situation and that he must make a decision soon regarding his political future.

“I’m happy the president is taking that reflection and trying to figure out if there’s a path for him or whether there’s a path for Kamala… ultimately, this will go to the vice president if the president decides there’s no path for him,” he expressed.

Moving forward, the Florida lawmaker reminded that the presidential race is not the only race that voters will decide.

“There are two other races going on: one for the house, and one for the senate, and both of those are up for grabs… Democrats need to look at this holistically.”

“If the country decides to give Donald Trump the wheel, we’d also like to see him get some brakes, and that’s by either winning the house or winning the senate. “
