Mills Predicts Biden Will Spin His Reelection Campaign Demise

Share

President Joe Biden made an unprecedented step Sunday, announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 Election and will address the nation Wednesday night. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) made predictions about the address in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit, saying the President was the victim of "an internal Democratic coup."

"I think he is going to try and tout his record and the decades of service that he has committed to the United States," said Rep. Mills, expecting Biden to say the border and economy are better now than they were under the Trump administration.

"But I think he is also going to try and still make the argument that this is about a fight for democracy. My whole thing, though, is that he needs to address the fact that if you are too unfit, mentally and physically, to be able to run for reelection, you are likely too unfit to remain in the seat to begin with. And so I think that these are things that the American people recognize and understand," Rep. Mills continued.

However, the Florida Congressman acknowledged that Biden likely did not decide on his own, and he said, "There was an internal Democratic coup that was going to toss Biden out when they saw his performance during the debate against President Trump and also his record lows when it comes to swing states across the country."

The host agreed with Mills' assessment, saying the President was pressured into withdrawing from the election.

The Florida Congressman further suggested, "They probably made a promise they would not invoke the 25th Amendment so long as he would step down. They would let him serve out the remainder of his term and kind of ride off into the sunset."

"But look, the Republicans need to ratchet things up a bit when it comes to investigations into things that have happened underneath [Biden's] watch, whether it be the fentanyl deaths, the angel families, or the recent assassination attempt on President Trump. I think that we cannot just go ahead and allow the continual failures that have gone on under this administration to be swept under the rug as they finally conclude the Weekend at Bernie's routine," Mills concluded.
