Gaetz Delivers Bombastic Speech at RNC

The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has been generating hype for former President Donald Trump's reelection campaign, and few did it as well as Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who gave a bombastic, enthusiastic speech Wednesday night, proclaiming that "we ride or die with Donald John Trump to the end."

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk posted the speech to X (formerly Twitter), where Rep. Gaetz opened with "Donald Trump is unstoppable."

The Florida Congressman then declared President Joe Biden to be "out of it" and accused Democrats of "hiding the real Biden for years. We saw more people in the witness protection program more often than we saw unscripted Biden."

Rep. Gaetz landed a hilariously nasty zinger against the recently convicted Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), saying, "Under Biden and [Vice President Kamala] Harris, inflation has gotten so bad you can no longer bribe Democrat Senator with cash alone. You have to use gold bars just for the bribe's value."

Nevertheless, should Trump win in November, Gaetz promised, "The Swamp draining will recommence soon, and I will be President Trump's strongest ally in Congress to pass term limits, to stop taxpayer funding of political campaigns, to ban members of Congress for life from becoming lobbyists, and for the same reason you do not let the referee bet on the game, ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks."

Additionally, he expressed support for defunding foreign aid "to countries that hate us" and that "President Trump understands that if it is not racist to check ID for a hunting license, or welfare benefits, or a fishing license, then it is okay to demand an ID to vote everywhere in this country and every election."

Gaetz continued his remarks by calling out attempts to deflect from President Biden's health, saying, "I do not think it is too much to ask that the American president be able to do the job," throwing in another jab at VP Harris, adding that she "is unable to do any job," and putting her in charge of the border "is like appointing Bernie Madoff to oversee your retirement plan."

The Florida Congressman also praised Trump's VP pick, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), as resembling a young Abraham Lincoln who "knows how to fight" like Ulysses S. Grant.

"So they can run Biden from the nursing home, Harris, George Clooney, Robert De Niro, whoever they want to run. We are on a mission to save and rescue this country, and we ride or die with Donald John Trump to the end," Gaetz concluded.
