Donalds Claims Media, Democrats Have 'Gaslighted' Americans Concerning President Biden's Health

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Newsmax to discuss the idea of the media and Democrats “gaslighting” the American people concerning the status of President Joe Biden’s (D) health. He claims before calls were made for him to drop out of the race, pundits across the country vowed for the President’s health and mental sharpness.

However, after President Biden’s poor showing in the recent debate against former President Donald Trump (R), those same pundits have seriously considered the prospect of the Democratic Party replacing Biden with someone else.

Rep. Donalds took issue with how the media has favorably portrayed Biden despite his senior moments at times throughout his presidency.

“When it comes to the Democrats and the media and how they work together in this machine, if you're the person at the top of the ticket, they will talk about you as if you are the greatest thing ever created,” said Rep. Donalds. “And the second bit you're not usable, i.e. Joe Biden, ‘Oh, you need to step down. You're not the same person. It's time for us to move on.’ These same Democrats two weeks ago were saying that Joe Biden was ‘one of the great presidents ever, look at what he's done,’ even though they knew full well, that his capabilities have been diminished over the last several years.”

He continued, “I think when you talk about how people aren't really being fooled by the propaganda from the Democrat machine, is because the American people are now accustomed to the gaslighting that comes from Democrats and comes from the media. It's all one and the same.

“And so, with Kamala Harris, she was the borders czar, she did nothing to fix the border. As a matter of fact, what she did was go down to the Northern Triangle countries to try to figure out root causes. We all know the root cause was Joe Biden ending Donald Trump's border security protocols. That was the root cause she ignored it. And then when she went to El Paso, she was there for a couple of hours, then went on to Los Angeles. She's not serious about the issues facing this country. Neither was Joe Biden,” concluded Rep. Donalds.

Byron Donalds represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District. He has appeared on the shortlist as a possible VP pick for former President Donald Trump (R).
