Joe Biden
On the eve of President Donald Trump's (R) rally in Doral, President Joe Biden (D) has addressed Democrats, releasing a letter that calls on Democrats to unify behind the Biden-Harris ticket.
The fallout from the first presidential debate left the Biden-Harris ticket reeling. The White House assured that the president's poor performance was due to a cold, the president argued it was due to international travel, and voters questioned if President Biden could truly undertake another four years should he win reelection. Subsequently, President Trump received a boost in the polls, and Democrats questioned the possibility of the incumbent president stepping down.
However, stepping down won't be likely as President Biden has now made it clear that he's "firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump."
Citing "extensive conversations with the leadership of the party, elected officials, rank and file members, and most importantly, Democratic voters," the incumbent president assured that he is not ignoring the concerns that have been shared with him since the debate. Noting that "these concerns come from a place of real respect," President Biden said that he believes, without a shadow of a doubt, that he can defeat President Trump in November. Otherwise, he would not be running for reelection.
His 2024 campaign will run on his record, which he states includes "creating over 15 million jobs (including 200,00 just last month), reaching historic lows on unemployment," and other accomplishments.
"We have an economic vision to run on that soundly beats Trump and the MAGA Republicans," the president warned, adding that Republicans "are siding with the wealthy and the big corporations and we are siding with the working people of America."
The letter was sent to Democrats on Capitol Hill.
