Rep. Tom Leek's Team Responds to 'Pot Daddy' John Morgan's 'Country Club Rhino' Attacks

TALLAHASSEE, FL—In the newest chapter of the Republican Rep. Tom Leek versus "Pot Daddy" Orlando lawyer John Morgan saga, Leek's team has responded to Morgan's claims that Leek attacked him.

A candidate for Senate District 7, Leek was called a "country club Rhino" and a "f*ck the people" person by "Pot Daddy" Morgan, who has recently thrown his support behind an amendment legalizing marijuana.

Morgan claimed this is because Leek's political committee, Friends of Tom Leek, attacked him with an ad alleging: "Who's behind the false attacks on Tom Leek? Democrat lovin', personal injury billboard lawyers."

Though Morgan is both a popular personal injury lawyer at Morgan & Morgan and a massive Democratic donor, Leek's team insists that he was not the ad's target.

“To be clear, we have not mentioned John Morgan or any associate of his firm in any advertisement or earned media," Leek's spokesperson, Christina Johnson, told The Floridian in an emailed statement. She explained that they were referring to "The Truth Matters" political committee, which launched an anti-Leek website called LiberalLeek.com.

Because "The Truth Matters" chairman, Erika Alba, works for Ponte Vedra's Woolsey Morcom law firm, the Leek team believes them to be behind the attacks. She explained that the committee has until June 10th—when campaign finance reports are due—to "reveal who the actual funders and expenders are behind these attacks" and "if they are truthful in their reporting as Florida election law requires."

Morgan, meanwhile, firmly believed Leek's ad was about him, writing on X, "When you think of a billboard lawyer who do YOU think of?" and "I’m for the people, he is fuck the people...He is the typical country club Rhino. Not Maga at all."

Then, in an expletive-laden post:

"Rep. Tom Leek AKA Tom Leech has begun to attack me as he gears up for a Senate run...You kicked the wrong fucking dog for no fucking reason. This dog bites."
