MTG, House Republicans Bid Jamaal Bowman Goodbye

Share

In a shocking turn of events, the first member of "The Squad" has been unseated. New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D) lost his reelection primary race to George Latimer (D) in a stunning double-digit defeat. With Latimer advancing, progressive Democrats are outraged, moderate Democrats are celebrating, and George Rep. Majorie Taylor Green (R) has bid her colleague Jamaal Bowman goodbye.

In a video posted on social media, Rep. MTG stood by the "infamous door" where the New York congressman pulled the fire alarm last year. Rep. Bowman pulled the fire alarm before the House was set to vote on a government funding bill, claiming it was an accident. In the video, Rep. MTG references the incident, calling into question his claim that it was accidental.

"This right here is a fire alarm. Nowhere does it say 'pull the fire alarm to open the exit door.' Nowhere does it say that, and I think that ex Middle School principals know better," she says in the recording.

The Georgia Republican once again questions the congressman's claim that it was accidental by explaining that she works in the Cannon office building, "and I watched Catherine Clark, the Democrat whip, make a motion to adjourn and then within minutes Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm, and he knew he was pulling a fire alarm because he's a former middle school principal, and then he ran out of the building and didn't tell anybody he did that, and this building was evacuated for over an hour."

"Congress had to hold the vote open that's usually only 15 minutes on the first vote. They held it open for more than an hour as well."

With Bowman no longer serving as a member of Congress come November, Rep. MTG is calling on Bowman to be prosecuted for violating federal law. "He needs to be prosecuted for violating the same federal law that they are prosecuting January 6th defendants and President Trump."
