Dr. Anthony Fauci got an earful this week as House Republicans grilled him over the COVID-19 pandemic. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R), a vocal critic of Dr. Fauci, has gone viral over refusing to acknowledge that he’s a doctor. After the hearing, Rep. Greene unloaded on Dr. Fauci, calling for him to be taken to prison.
The House Oversight Committee’s hearing with Dr. Fauci devolved to chaos this week as Rep. Green not only verbally sparred with Dr. Fauci but with Republicans and Democrats as well.
During the hearing, both Democrats and Republicans pushed back against the Georgia Rep. for having violated the “rules of decorum.”
After the hearing, Rep. Greene unloaded on Fauci and her colleagues, taking issue with claims that she “worships Trump.”
Speaking to reporters, Rep. Greene commented that “the media worshipped George Floyd. Democrats worshipped George Floyd. There were riots, burning down the fu**ng country over George Floyd, and Raskin’s in there saying we worship him [Trump]. Excuse me. Let me correct you, and this is really important. I don’t worship [Trump]. I worship God, and Jesus is my savior. I don’t worship President Trump,” Rep. Greene said.
Arguing that Democrats are just interested in attacking her character, she disregarded comments about her as “nonstop BS.”
Her exchange with the likes of Washington Rep. Jamie Raskin (D) comes after a highly publicized exchange with Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D), which spawned memes and a marketing campaign from Rep. Crockett.
Further commenting on the hearing with Dr. Fauci, Rep. Greene accused Democrats of having no political capital to convince voters.
For her, “they’re responsible for the lockdowns, forced vaccinations, kids being forced to stay home, people committing suicide, and all the horrors that this country lived through during COVID.”
“Fauci belongs in prison. He should be tried for mass murder, and he should be tried for crimes against humanity. That’s how I feel after that hearing. That’s how the American people feel.”
