Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) blasted President Joe Biden (D) and his administration for greenlighting programs for foreign groups using American taxpayer monies. He even claims that the President has sent billions to a terrorist organization over the last three years.
In a recent blog post, Rep. Mast scolded President Biden and his “lackadaisical approach” to government funds.
“The House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing today exposing how Joe Biden’s State Department is sending American tax dollars to thousands of foreign groups with less accountability and oversight than is used to build a bridge here at home,” said Rep. Mast. “This lackadaisical approach is exactly why we’ve seen the Biden administration approve a $20,000 grant to fund drag shows in Ecuador and a HALF MILLION DOLLAR GRANT promoting ATHEISM in Nepal.”
He continued, “It’s also why the Biden administration has sent more than $2.8 BILLION to Afghanistan since the Taliban took power in August 2021. This is the epitome of AMERICA LAST. Our country is competing for influence all across the globe with China, Russia, Iran, and other enemies. We’re fighting to secure allies and our tax dollars should be going to benefit our national security interests.”
Finally, the Florida congressman described the administration’s spending agenda as a “failing strategy.”
“Yet, we’re not seeing that from Joe Biden’s State Department. China’s Belt and Road Initiative is building highways, ports, and bridges. Meanwhile, our State Department is promoting atheism in Nepal and building useless piers in Gaza. This is a failing strategy and I’ll fight to ensure every penny of YOUR tax dollars is not wasted abroad.”
Relating to the building of the pier in Gaza, Mast recently reminded U.S. citizens of the American hostages who are still detained by Hamas following the Oct. 7 attack in Israel that killed approximately 1,000 people in the Jewish state.
“What's most stark to me is the fact that America is allowing itself, President Biden is allowing America to be pulled into this and continually forgetting the fact that we have Americans currently being held by these terrorists. We have Americans that were killed on October 7 by these terrorists, and there has never been an expectation that there will be Americans sent to come get those Americans that are being held. That's what's going on with this administration. No, no guarantee that America is there for Americans. That's not what this country is about.”
