Trump Confident Criminal Conviction Will Spur Hispanic-American Vote

Former President Donald Trump appears confident Hispanic-Americans will support him over President Joe Biden in the upcoming elections as he spoke during his first interview after being found guilty by a trial court last week.

President Trump became the first president ever to be tried and convicted for criminal charges after a jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts.

Trump denied all wrongdoing and claimed the trial was “rigged” and a “disgrace.”

When asked if he believed Hispanic Americans viewed Trump’s conviction as similar to routine political persecution experienced in their home states, Trump responded affirmatively.

“I’m doing very well with (Hispanics), and I think (my conviction) is why a little bit” said Trump.

Trump’s conviction has deepened America’s political and social divide, but the latest polls demonstrate the former president still leads Biden.

Politically, the Republican party has consolidated around Trump in a show of unity and intra-party support.

US Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) are joining a group of Senators who have vowed to oppose President Joe Biden’s legislative priorities following Trump’s conviction.

“This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt a political opponent. And I think it’s just a disgrace, and we’ll keep fighting, we’ll fight to the end and win,” said Trump.

Senators Rubio and Scott responded to the guilty verdict by joining a coalition of Senators pledging to oppose President Biden and Democrats’ legislative initiatives.

The senators, who include Mike Lee (R-UT), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), JD Vance (R-OH), and Eric Schmitt (R-MO) blamed Biden for Trump’s conviction.

“The White House has made a mockery of the rule of law and fundamentally altered our politics in un-American ways,” reads a statement from the senators.

Additionally, the senators promised to oppose any non-security funding, funds for partisan lawfare, political and judicial appointees, and expedited consideration and passage of Democrat legislation or authorities.

Rubio asked fellow Republican senators to join their cause and continued criticizing Biden for the weaponization of the justice system.

“The White House’s weaponization has gotten out of control. We can't let this become the norm,” said Rubio.

Biden responded to Trump’s conviction positively and rejected Republican allegations of his administration’s alleged lawfare.

“It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, and it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict,” said Biden.
