Donalds Warns 'American People are Suffering' Under Biden

Share

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) has emerged as a vocal critic of President Joe Biden (D), fueling speculation over his vice presidential candidacy. With voters hours away from the first presidential debate, Rep. Donalds is warning that the "American people are suffering" under President Biden.

Ahead of the debate, President Donald Trump's (R) campaign has amped up its attacks on the Biden campaign. As the campaign has done in recent weeks, it's released an advertisement for "Bidenica," medication to help people sleep that includes "a patented blend of confusion and forgetfulness." In response to the advertisements, the Biden campaign is highlighting support from the likes of former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R), who's announced his support for President Biden.

Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried (D) has also weighed in on the upcoming debate, affirming that President Biden will focus on policy and the issues. President Trump instead, she argues, will focus on "theatrics."

However, Republicans like Rep. Donalds beg to differ, arguing that President Trump and Republicans "have the commonsense solutions" to fix the issue that Americans are currently facing.

During an interview with CNN, the news source that will host tonight's debate, Rep. Donalds expressed that "the American people have been suffering under the presidency of Joe Biden, so when it comes to the American voter, what does a change in leadership in the White House mean?"

"It means a better economy. It means prices are under control. It means a secure border. That's all the things that you need for a prosperous country going forward," Rep. Donalds added. "Those are the kitchen table issues that the American people care about."

The Florida Republican has been a surrogate for President Trump, making the case to voters that the country was thriving under President Trump. This has further steeped him in conversations regarding President Trump's potential vice presidential choice.
