US Military Directly Strikes More Houthi Targets in Underreported Conflict

US and UK Armed Forces reportedly engaged in nearly two dozen missile strikes against Houthi forces. The latest strikes are an escalation in the Houthi-Israel Red Sea confrontation.

Since Hamas’ October 7th attacks, the Houthis have launched an aggressive campaign against Israel, targeting Israeli and allies’ ships traversing the Red Sea with daily missile strikes.

However, Houthi attacks have almost been normalized, causing scant media reaction in the US and most Western countries to escalating military confrontations with the terrorist group.

Earlier this week, a Houthi missile strike caused a commercial ship to begin sinking off the coast of Yemen.

The US and allies have been assisting Israel repel Houthi attacks.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the latest strikes Thursday afternoon.

US forces destroyed eight uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV) in Iranian-backed Houthi controlled areas of Yemen and over the Red Sea, reported CENTCOM.

Additionally, the US struck 13 Houthi targets within Yemen after identifying such sites as potential threats to US and allies’ assets as well as merchant vessels navigating the region.

The Houthi threat demonstrates the multi-faceted security challenges faced by Israel, which is fighting Hamas in the south, Hezbollah in the North, and the Houthis in the east.

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) claimed support for Israel has been insufficient since Hamas’ October 7th attacks.

“There would be mass outrage if more than 30 Americans were killed and taken hostage here in America by a TERRORIST group,” said Mast. “But because this happened in Israel on October 7th, the world looks the other way. I will not be silent until every single AMERICAN held by Hamas is returned home.”

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently claimed the US desires Israel to “get out of Gaza,” to prevent additional civilian casualties.

State Secretary Blinken claims Israel’s tactics have led to a “horrible loss of innocent civilian life” and demanded rectification.

Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) just recently surreptitiously halved the number of innocent civilians killed by Israel in Gaza.

The UN had been reporting civilian deaths via Hamas’ Gaza Health Ministry and lowered them from 24,000 to 15,000.
