With former President Donald Trump set to hold a campaign rally in The Bronx, New York, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to the upcoming rally in her congressional district, chiding the former president by accusing him of trying to “con people” in order to pay for his legal fees.
“He is hosting rallies to con people and fleece them out of every dollar that they have to help pay for his legal fees,” said Rep. Ocasio-Cortez. “He can’t leave the five Burroughs because he always has to be in court”.
.@AOC says Trump is trying to "con people" to pay for his legal fees, and states Trump can't travel outside NYC, even though he has been holding events in other states.https://t.co/Z6HxfTl9aC

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s assertion that Trump can’t leave the New York City area can be rebuked considering that the former president has been traveling outside the area throughout the course of the “Hush money” trial.
With a growing number of Americans upset with the direction in which President Joe Biden is leading the country, the upcoming Bronx rally could serve as an opportunity for Trump to engage with voters who would not typically vote for a Republican presidential nominee or candidate.
Could the traditionally true blue New York State be in play for Trump this election cycle?
The last time a Republican won the state of New York was in 1984 when then-President Ronald Reagan defeated Democratic presidential nominee Walter Mondale to win reelection.
