Over the weekend, Israel struck a blow against Hamas, killing two senior leaders but also supposedly killing multiple civilians. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) discussed the fallout in a recent appearance on Fox and Friends First, acknowledging the difficulty of fighting such a war and also blasting the Biden Administration's continued warnings against Israel while appeasing Iran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the strike, calling the supposedly large numbers of civilian casualties "a tragic mishap" and promising an investigation.
The Biden Administration responded, "Israel has a right to go after Hamas, and we understand this strike killed two senior Hamas terrorists who are responsible for attacks against Israeli civilians, but, as we've been clear, Israel must take every precaution possible to protect civilians."
Such incidents of collateral damage were what Rep. Mills called "the problem when you actually have these types of wars, where it is a continuous fight, door to door, house to house, village to village. We saw the same thing in Iraq; we saw the same thing in Afghanistan; we saw under the Obama Administration where they actually had conducted drone strikes against [Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)] in the Gulf of Aden, where many civilians and collateral damage was actually rendered to cause the Arabian Peninsula to actually explode as a terrorist safe haven."
Nevertheless, Rep. Mills commended Netanyahu's admittance to responsibility and efforts to reduce civilian casualties, but "they must continue to do their job" of destroying Hamas.
Host Carley Shimkus pivoted to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal suggesting the Biden Administration was telling the United Kingdom and France not to censure Iran for advancing its nuclear program, even as the Islamic Republic is close to refining weapons-grade fissile material, supposedly within days.
Mills noted the irony, saying, "Here is Biden telling Israel, our ally, exactly how they should be doing things and yet showing appeasement to Iran."
The Florida Congressman reiterated that "this is the same administration under Biden that delisted the Houthi rebels as a terrorist organization. This is the same administration who has stopped enforcing the oil exportation to China, which is actually the reason that they have this financing to be able to go ahead and advance their nuclear program, and now they are trying to interfere with the [International Atomic Energy Agency] capabilities to be able to ensure that Iran does not become a nuclear capability by not only abstaining from the vote but trying to encourage others not to actually enforce it."
