'MAGA MEG' Weinberger vs Anthony Aguirre State House Race Ramps Up

Share

A proverbial political torch is about to be lit in the contentious Republican primary race in Florida’s House District 94 as more and more Trump surrogates continue to line up to support philanthropist Meg “MAGA Meg” Weinberger over consultant Anthony Aguirre.

The Floridian has learned that Aguirre’s campaign could be on the verge of attacking Weinberger over past donations she made to Democrats before jumping into politics.

Aguirre has also donated to progressive Democrats in the past.

The potential attack against Weinberger, dubbed “MAGA MEG” by political TV personality Dr. Gina Loudon, could come on the heels of a slew of state and federal endorsements she has received used to build significant momentum for her campaign.

Meg Weinberger

Aguirre is said to have received the local Firefighter’s union endorsement in Palm Beach County. Still, while receiving the support of first responders is always welcomed, Weinberger is boasting her support from law enforcement—The Police Benevolent Association and the Fraternal Order of Police.

We learned that Aguirre received the endorsement a few days ago from sources within Florida Politics.

Her support from political influencers and elected officials has fueled Weinberger’s campaign momentum. Reps. Matt Gaetz Jason Smith, Gus Bilirakis, RonnY Jackson and Brian Mast, and Senatorial candidate Kari Lake, have all endorsed Weinberger, with several more endorsements to come in over the next few weeks.

Weinberger has also been endorsed by Trump surrogate Bernard Kerik, TV personality Leo 2.0 Terrell, General Michael Flynn and State Reps Mike Caruso and Alina Garcia.

Anthony Aguirre

Both Aguirre and Weinberger are running on the “Make America Great Again” and “Florida First” agendas to gain the support of Republican voters in a very Republican house district.

The primary election winner is assured to become the next state representative in District 94.

In addition to Weinberger and Aguirre, Republicans Jon Carter, Christian Acosta, and Gabrielle Fox, and Democrat Rachelle Litt, have also registered to run for this state house seat, but have until June 24th to qualify for the August 20 Republican primary election.

We reached to both campaigns but only heard back from Meg Weinberger.

In a written statement, Weinberger said, "I am honored to earn the nickname "MAGA MEG" and support President Trump's America First Agenda and Governor DeSantis' winning Florida First Agenda.  I am also proud to stand with Israel and all of our members of law enforcement and first responders.  I will fight along President Trump and Governor DeSantis to secure our boarders from Joe Biden's sanctioned invasion by illegal immigrants.  I will fight to protect Florida's farmers and the hard working Florida families who are facing the constant  threat of Bidenomics and out of control inflation and property insurance rates.  We must also protect our children from woke indoctrination."

As of the last campaign finance report, Weinberger leads the field in fundraising.
