House Republicans have continually criticized the Biden Administration for the border crisis, with recent events only vindicating their outrage. Over 50,000 Chinese nationals have illegally crossed into the United States, with 30,000 just since October, and Cuban officials received a tour of sensitive areas in the Miami International Airport. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) discussed these in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying only the reelection of former President Donald Trump will end things.
Host Maria Bartiromo began by recounting the 50,000 Chinese illegal immigrants that Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) had discussed at greater length recently, in addition to the recent incident of two Jordanian nationals here illegally attempting to breach the Quantico military base. "Where is the security in this country?" asked Bartiromo.
"There is none," Rep. Gimenez answered, "Look, those numbers that you have right now are the ones that we know, the ones who were apprehended and then released into the country with a really low vetting process. But how about the two million people that got away that we do not even know who they are, or where they came from, or why they are here? That's why FBI [Director] Christopher Wray is so concerned about national security, and he points right at the southern border as the cause of that concern."
Bartiromo could only ask why nothing is being done to solve the crisis, only for Rep. Gimenez to reply, "The problem is the President of the United States. The President of the United States is supposed to hold his departments accountable. We [Congress] are supposed to hold the President of the United States accountable, also. But the Supreme Court says our only recourse is impeachment."
The Florida Congressman reiterated that the attempt to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas by the House died in the Senate, "and so when that happens, the administrative state knows that they can just ignore Congress, the will of Congress, the will of the American people. We need a new President. That is why this will stop as soon as Donald Trump becomes President of the United States," Gimenez concluded.
