'Dangerous & Pathetic': Gimenez Chastises Biden Admin for Cuba Policy Change

Share

Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) has called President Joe Biden (D) and his recent policy on Cuba “dangerous and pathetic” as he believes the Commander-In-Chief is complying with dictators.

He released a statement after the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that it has amended its regulations to “increase support for the Cuban people and independent private sector entrepreneurs.”

“President Biden has just announced more concessions to the dictatorship in Cuba. This move will only perpetuate the regime in power and prolong the suffering of the Cuban people. The blatant complicity with these dictators is dangerous and pathetic,” said Rep. Gimenez.

During a recent press conference to denounce the recent TSA-sponsored visit by Cuban officials to the Miami International Airport (MIA), Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R) warned that if President Joe Biden wins reelection, the administration would push to normalize relations with the Cuban regime much like former President Barack Obama did during his second term in office.

Now they are doing so before he possibly wins reelection.

When asked if he believed the sanction visit by those Cuban officials was a “continuation of the Obama agenda with Cuba” of trying to normalize relations with the regime, Rep. Gimenez stated, “I believe that they will wait until after the election, if they get reelection and they’ll have an opening with Cuba just like the Obama administration.”

Rep. Gimenez said that contrary to what a few people believe, “There is no free enterprise system in Cuba,” calling the belief that Cuba is interested in such an economic system “A falsehood.”

“There may be people who say they're part of the free enterprise system, but they're all tied to the regime, and anytime you do that you're helping the regime.

“You're helping to maintain the regime that's been oppressing the people for 60 years,” added Gimenez. “It's time that we start you know acting like the beacon of freedom and democracy that this nation should be in this hemisphere.”

Gimenez also vowed to investigate the visit in the TSA subcommittee in the House of Representatives.
